The test-taker has to create an ETS account for registration. When you create an account, make sure the name and date of birth you use precisely match your original documents, such as your passport, as carrying an ID on the test date is essential. Suppose the information needs to be corrected or matched with your ETS account. In that case, you are not allowed to take the exam, and the examination fee will not be refunded.
Steps to register for GRE Exam
- A Student must create an ETS account and log in to the account on the official website.
- You must fill in your details carefully as per your passport.
- Select the reason for taking the test.
- After successfully creating an account on the ETS website, you have to log in and proceed with registration.
- Once on the dashboard, choose an option to book the test.
- Now, You have to select the exam date and your preferred test center location.
- Verify your personal and contact details, as you cannot change them after booking the exam.
- If interested, you can choose the GRE prep material ETS provides.
- You have to pay the test fee using online payment methods and get your acknowledgment letter printed.

Reschedule GRE Exam
Here are easy steps to reschedule your upcoming GRE test
- Login using username and password at ETS official website
- Visit the Upcoming Tests section and select the test.
- Click on the Reschedule option.
- Choose the new test date and center from the available slots and Click on the Register option
- Now, you have to validate your personal and contact details to continue
- In the Last step, you must pay the Rescheduling fees of Rs 5000 online.
Cancelling GRE Exam
If you cancel your GRE at least 4 days before the scheduled date, you are eligible for a 50% refund. For example, if your exam date is Friday, you must cancel it by Monday. The refund will be made in the original payment method. Here are easy steps to cancel your upcoming GRE test and request for refund.

Retaking GRE Exam
A student can retake the GRE test only five times a year, and the student must have a gap of 21 days to rebook the exam, as per the rules and regulations of ETS. The test-taker who has already registered for the exam cannot book again. After 21 days, the student can enroll in the exam again. There is no restriction to taking it as many students take many exams to enhance their scores, as every university & college has different GRE score requirements.
