Steps to register for TOEFL Exam in India

To register for the TOEFL iBT Exam in India, you have to follow the simple steps, and your Test Appointment will be completed within 5 minutes. Here is the Step-by-Step Guide to follow.

1. You have to create an ETS TOEFL account on the official website and log in to the account on TOEFL website.
   
2. On the Dasboard, you are required to choose between Test Center and Home Edition. Then select the exam date as a calendar of the exam date and time as per your preference.
   
3. On the following page, you have to enter our Agent Code (IND4828101) to utilize the unlock exclusive features.
   
4. On the payment page, you have to pay the examination fee through a Credit/debit card, UPI, Net-Banking Voucher, etc. You should check your details twice before paying the payment for your exam.
   
5. When you successfully pay the examination fee, the ETS will issue you an acknowledgement letter, and you have to print it out and carry it with you to the test centre on your test date along with Original Passport

Note: Your registration details, such as First Name, Last Name, Gender, and Date of Birth, must match the information on your passport. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to sit in the exam, and the examination fee shall not be refunded. Secondly, there is no option to change the test appointment date and time without incurring rescheduling charges, so you should carefully review the details before proceeding.

TOEFL iBT Exam Fees in India

From October 1, 2025, onwards, the price of the TOEFL iBT Exam in India is Rs 18,000, inclusive of GST, for both Test Center and Home Edition. This is the general Exam Registration Fee if you choose an exam date at least 7 days away.

Express Fee: An additional Express Fee of Rs 3,899 applies if the time duration between the current date and the exam date is less than 7 days. Therefore, it’s recommended to book your TOEFL Exam as early as possible to secure a preferred time slot and save on Express Fees.

Additional Score Reports: You can send up to 4 Score Reports for FREE if you select the Institutions at least one day before the Test Appointment date. After the Exam, the TOEFL charges Rs 2300 per Official Score Report.

Documents for TOEFL Test Day

For the Test Appointment Day, please keep your Original passport ready, whether it is a Test-Center or Home Edition version. You must show your Original, Valid Passport on the Test day to the proctor. No exemption is accepted. Also, please note that you are not required to carry personal stationery or a water bottle, as they will be provided by the Test Center if needed.

The personal ID documents, such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, or Driving License, are not accepted for the TOEFL Exam in India as per Official TOEFL Website

Rescheduling & Cancellation of TOEFL Test

To reschedule or cancel your TOEFL exam, you must request it at least 4 days before the exam date. To reschedule, you must pay an additional Rs 5900 as Test Rescheduling charges before booking the new exam date. For cancellation, you will receive only a 50% refund of the exam fees paid, and the rest will be retained for processing your registration and holding your seat at the Test Center. If you request rescheduling or cancellation within 4 days of your exam date, you will not receive any refund.

If your exam is rescheduled or cancelled by ETS for any reason, you are eligible for a Free reschedule or Full Refund.

Here is the process of Rescheduling and Cancellation of TOEFL exam

1. Open the ETS website
2. Login using the registered Email address and Mobile number
3. Choose your upcoming exam from the list and click on it.
4. Click on Reschedule or Cancellation, depending on your decision.
5. If you click 'Reschedule Appointment', you will be asked to choose the new exam date, pay the rescheduling fees and book a new appointment.
6. If you click 'Cancel Appointment', you have to confirm your cancellation, and you will receive a refund within a few working days.

TOEFL iBT Name Correction Process

If you want to change your name on the TOEFL iBT Exam, you can do it by following the steps below:

1. Log in to your TOEFL Account and Copy the ETS ID.
2. Write an Email and enter your Corrected Name, DOB and Other personal information. Mention your registered Email Address, Phone Number, ETS ID and attach a scanned copy of your Passport.
3. Send the Email to TOEFLSupport4India@ets.org if you are from India or TOEFLsupport4Korea@ets.org if you are from South Korea, or toefl@ets.org for all other Countries from your registered Email Address.
4. Wait for 1-2 working days, and it will be rectified in your ETS TOEFL profile.

Please note that you are required to complete the process at least three working days before your TOEFL Test Appointment. In most cases, we observed that the ETS Support Team rectify the corrections the same day.

Retaking TOEFL Test

The test-taker can retake the TOEFL Exam any number of times till they receive the targeted score. However, the test-taker must wait at least three days after the previous test to book a new one.
