The Canada Visa Medical test is required for all visa categories, including Student, Worker, Visitor, Permanent Residency, and Express Entry. According to IRCC rules, any person who has been designated for more than 6 months in the last year is subject to a Visa Medical Test before arriving in Canada.
The standard charges for the Canada Visa Medical Test in Nigeria are between ₦ 95,000 and ₦ 1,50,000 for applicants aged 15 years and above.

When taking the Canada Visa Medical Test in Nigeria, you must carry the following documents to ensure a smooth procedure.
The Medical tests during an Examination depend on the age of the applicant; however, the most common tests are weight measurement, an Eye Check-up, a chest X-ray, a Urine Sample, a Blood Sample, and an eye check-up, followed by a Medical Examination by a panel physician.

There might be some additional Medical tests, such as a TB investigation, Urine Pregnancy Test, IGRA, and Sputum Smear, based on the Doctor's recommendation. There will be no X-ray examination for pregnant applicants. The applicant must bear additional charges for any further tests.
The Medical Examination is similar to a general body check-up, where an authorized hospital will conduct basic medical tests as set by IRCC. Here is the Step-by-Step procedure of What you should expect at the Test Centre on the day of the appointment
The entire process will take approximately 2-3 hours, depending on the level of demand and availability of the Panel Physician.
The Medical Reports will be uploaded directly by the hospital to the IRCC portal, and it will take approximately 24-48 hours for the update to be reflected. If there are any abnormalities in your test results, the panel physician will inform you on the day of your appointment. Hence, you do not need to collect your reports from the hospital physically. At the end of the Examination, you will be issued the Medical Information Sheet required for your visa application.
No, the Medical tests conducted during the Canadian visa medical are standard and do not require fasting. It is recommended to have a proper meal before coming for the Examination.
The Validity of the Canada Visa Medical Report is 1 year from the date of the Examination. In the event of a Visa Refusal or Re-Application, the same Medical report can be used for a Canadian visa application. Suppose the gap between the Medical Examination Date and the Date of Arrival in Canada exceeds 1 year. In that case, the applicant must undergo a Re-Medical examination, even if they have a valid Visa. According to IRCC rules, travelers must have a valid Medical Report at the time of arrival in Canada if they have stayed in a designated country for more than 6 months in the last year.
