TOEFL Exam Fees in Nepal

According to the ETS TOEFL iBT website, the test fees for Nepali students are USD 195, equivalent to NPR 27,420 for both the TOEFL iBT Test Centre and Home Edition. The Fee includes applicable taxes, and it must be paid online on the TOEFL iBT website to book the test appointment at least one day in advance. The TOEFL charges an express fee of USD 49 for booking a test date within the next 7 days. However, for Nepali Students, this Fee has been waived. Other than that, there are fixed charges for Cancellation, Rescheduling, Score Reporting and Express Result. Step-By-Step TOEFL Registration process in Nepal

To register for the TOEFL Test in Nepal, you have to complete the following simple registration process.

  2. Enter your Email address and Password. Click on Signin or Signup if not Registered.



     
  3. Select the Test Type between Home Edition and Test Centre, and then choose the date and time.

TOEFL Home Edition vs Test Center in Nepal

The ETS offers two versions of the TOEFL iBT test: TOEFL Home Edition and TOEFL at Test Centre. As the name suggests, in TOEFL Home Edition, you can take the test from the comfort of your place; however, in a Test Centre, you have to visit the designated test centre to attempt the exam. The content of both exams is identical, but some Universities or Immigration departments do not accept Home Edition for security reasons. The acceptability of the Home Edition is increasing among Universities as TOEFL works towards more secure policies and reduces the chance of cheating.

TOEFL Test Format & Timing Table

The TOEFL test comprises four sections: Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking. All four sections have a score range of 0-30, and the total score of all four sections is equal to the Overall Score.It is an Internet-based test available in Home-based and Test-Centre-based versions. The format of the exam is the same in both versions. When compared to IELTS and PTE, it is the shortest test of all and is widely accepted. Here is the module-wise bifurcation of the TOEFL test.

TOEFL Test Policies & Rules in Nepal

Acceptable Identity Card
  • Only a valid Original Passport is acceptable for the TOEFL iBT Exam in Nepal.
  • If your passport is submitted at the Embassy for visa purposes, you must wait until the process is completed to receive your passport back
  • A photocopy of a Passport is not accepted.
  • If a student fails to present their valid passport on the day of the appointment, the appointment will be cancelled by ETS without any refund.

 

Rules and Guidelines at Test Centers
  • You must arrive at the Test Centre at least 30 minutes before your Scheduled Appointment
  • Must Carry a Valid Original Passport as Proof of Identity
  • You must destroy any Note-taking material at the end of the Exam for security reasons.

 

Rules and Guidelines of TOEFL Home Edition
  • You must arrange a Laptop with a stable internet connection, a camera/webcam, a speaker and a microphone. 
  • The Laptop and Mouse must be placed on a table by you, and you must sit against a non-transparent wall. 
  • You must have a fully-charged mobile phone or Tablet as a Secondary Camera
  • The Room where you are sitting must be quiet and have proper lighting. 
  • There should not be any person in the Room.
  • Usage of Headphone or Earphone is NOT allowed

 


 

Score Validity & Reporting Timeline

The TOEFL test score is valid for 2 years from the date of the test appointment. You can download the test score report from your Official TOEFL account after 4-8 days of the test appointment.

Once you submit the test appointment, it will take 4-8 working days to get your result, irrespective of the test mode - Home Edition or Test Centre. You can also purchase an Express Score service at an additional fee of USD 100. With this service, you will get the result within 24 Hours.

Score Reporting

With each TOEFL test appointment, you can send test scores to a maximum of 4 Universities or Agencies for FREE. You must choose the free universities at least one day in advance, by 10 PM. Afterwards, the charge per Institution/Agency will be USD 25, and it will take four working days to send the scores once you place an order on the TOEFL website.
