Geology is an exciting career for people interested in the Earth, mineral resource development, or a wide range of related fields including global change, energy dependency, natural hazards, and natural resources. Our rural setting and small class sizes provide field and laboratory opportunities at every level of study. Careers in Geology offer opportunities for field and office work in many areas of the world, often in places that few people ever get to visit. The work that is done now by geologists affects the decisions of future generations.
The geology program is available at both the BSc and BSc (honours) level. Acadia's curriculum allows you to achieve professional registration as a geologist. In includes a core of courses at the first to fourth-levels and allows elective courses tailored to your interests. Outside the Department of Earth and Environmental Science, you also study chemistry, math and physics.
