Students will enhance their career with this specialization in health administration systems and health information management in this one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program. They will learn about global advancements in the use of technology in electronic patient records, automated voice transcription, digital imaging concepts, ADT (admission-discharge-transfer) systems messaging and workflow. They will also develop valuable skills in data analysis and the creation of dashboards.
When students graduate, they may go on to receive accreditation in Health Information Management including Digital Health Canada (COACH)* and Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)*. They will also gain direct access to the second year of the two-year post-graduate program, Health Care Administration Management, resulting in two Ontario College Graduate Certificate credentials in just two years of study. The Health Systems Management program will also prepare students who are interested in additional qualifications through other Fanshawe graduate certificates such as Project Management or Information Security Management.
