In less than a year, students can become a qualified 4th class power engineer. That is an entry to jobs wherever there’s a steam power plant.
Students can build the foundation for a career through hands-on training in Lakeland's Husky Energy Power Engineering lab. They can discover the essentials of electricity, thermodynamics, steam generation and water treatment.
Students can also learn safe and effective operation and maintenance of boilers, turbines and engines. Particular heavy oil topics include production flow lines, well operations and production facilities
Then, students take their knowledge to the field in a work practicum.
