The fragmentation of media and complex and competitive nature of business highlights how important a strong brand is to an organisation. Understanding the brand development process, brand strategies and metrics is imperative to marketing professionals. Created in close consultation with senior marketing professionals and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Nottingham Trent University's MSc Marketing and Brand Management degree will give the student an exciting and stimulating opportunity to reflect on how organisations can rise to the increasing challenges of marketing and branding in today's world.
Through contemporary case studies and applied projects, the student will be introduced to the principles of marketing and consumer behaviour and develop a comprehensive knowledge of brand and design management in global settings. In their third semester, the student will choose an experiential project. With the opportunity to use their skills in a real-world setting, the student can choose from completing a consultancy experience project, an internship experience project, or a business research project.
This course is aimed at students from a range of backgrounds who don't necessarily have a background in marketing. Whether they want to work for a major international brand or an innovative creative agency, Nottingham Trent University's MSc Marketing and Brand Management degree will ensure that the student will learn the theory, tools and techniques needed to develop into an effective brand marketing professional ready to operate at strategic and tactical levels in industry.
Students will have the option to gain two professional qualifications - the Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing and the Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing.
Students starting this Masters in September can apply for the two-year option where they can add a year’s work placement onto the course. It’s a great way to put their learning into practice and gain valuable real-world experience to help boost career prospects once graduating.
The placement year will last up to 48 weeks (minimum 36 weeks). If students are unable to take a full year's placement, but have completed the minimum 36 weeks they can qualify for a Placement Diploma in Industrial Experience. If students undertake a placement, they must take up the Business Research Project in Semester Three.
Please be advised that this programme has a placement year.
