This Upper Year Entry path is for upper-year applicants. The path is for those who are completing their first year at another university, or have completed or are close to completing a diploma program at a community college, and are interested in transferring to Queen’s University.
The Dan School of Drama and Music emphasizes a balanced approach in which theory informs practice and practice informs theory. In the Drama program, students can study all aspects of theatre, from acting and directing to theatre history and dramatic literature, and there are many different opportunities to become involved with the productions, which have been described as “intriguing work that meets a high level of accomplishment”. Some popular offerings include Music Theatre, Acting, Technical Production and summer courses in Medieval Theatre at Herstmonceux Castle in England.
Queen's University also offers an internship opportunities in which students work with a professional theatre company. Graduates are broadly resourceful thinkers and practitioners able to work comfortably and confidently in a wide range of professions.
