Students have the ability to customize their education by choosing courses that fit their goals and interests. Third-year electives include business innovation, content marketing, leadership development, search engine marketing, entrepreneurship, sales account management and more. Students will specialize in certain areas or broaden their marketing knowledge. Electives are constantly updated to reflect industry demands.
Experiential learning is at the core of Sheridan College’s Business Administration – Marketing advanced diploma. Students will work with their peers on various activities, case studies and projects, including development of a marketing plan for a real-world industry client. Students can also gain additional experience through an optional co-op placement, which may lead to employment opportunities after they graduate.
Students will also have the chance to earn a professional certificate from the Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA). For students who complete six core courses that align with the CPSA Skills and Knowledge Competencies, they will be eligible to apply for the Professional Sales Certificate from the CPSA.
Students will have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of extracurricular activities and student-run organizations such as the Marketing Association, Business Council and Sheridan College’s Student Union. Students can also join other business students in Enactus and Toastmasters clubs, and students will have the opportunity to represent the college at events such as the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition (OCMC).
