Physiotherapy is a science-based healthcare profession where practitioners use their skills to improve and manage a wide range of medical conditions. Physiotherapists help people affected by illness, injury or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. Physiotherapists take a ‘whole person’ approach to health and fully involve the patients in their own care through education, awareness and empowerment.
In this course students will study the core areas of physiotherapy and apply these to clinical situations in this hands-on programme at University of Gloucestershire. The student's study will include practice-based learning in a variety of NHS and private settings to give them a diverse experience to prepare for their future careers as physiotherapists. Students will also build up valuable experience in supporting long-term condition management programmes and a musculoskeletal clinic at the University or in a local clinic.
The course is currently being reviewed for accreditation by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). On completion of the course you will be eligible to apply to the CSP and HCPC to practice as a registered physiotherapist.
