To succeed as a manager or leader in today's ever-changing, global, and increasingly virtual business world, students will need a broad range of multi-disciplinary skills, a strong leadership self-identity, and a growth mindset. In this Ontario Graduate Certificate program, students will first build a strong foundation by exploring their own leadership self-identity, style, strengths, and preferences. From there, they will build multidisciplinary skills required by today's business leaders in a variety of areas including project management, strategic planning, business analytics, financial management, change and risk management, and human resources management.
In today's complex business world, with a dramatic increase in global, remote and hybrid work environments, employee engagement and retention are more critical than ever. Students will explore the business case and effective practices for promoting workplace diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Students will also learn cutting-edge practices to effectively manage remote, hybrid and global teams to be able to inspire, motivate, guide, and empower others. Students will have an opportunity to explore the U.N.'s PRME initiative and Sustainable Development Goals to understand how leaders can incorporate sustainable business practices across a broad range of contexts.
