This future-facing Part 2 Architecture program engages directly with clients, key stakeholders and policy-makers. Lancaster University is ranked as one of the top universities in the UK. Building on institutional reputation for excellence in teaching and research, the new Master of Architecture program (MArch) is structured to provide students with the ability and agility to adapt to constantly changing workplaces.
Students will develop advanced digital skills to enable the production and fabrication of ideas including advanced Parametric, GIS and BIM techniques, alongside relevant presentation skills supported through dedicated IT facilities.
Professionalism in practice is developed through casework, contextual studies and work placements, which enables students to develop a deep market understanding of the future direction of the profession.
Design studio is the core activity for the M.Arch.; a collaborative community of academics, practitioners and students all engaged collectively in the pursuit of architectural design and research excellence. Students will work with some of UK’s leading designers, architects, academics and researchers in a collaborative atmosphere that strives towards positive social, economic, technological and environmental change.
Students will have the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge that will enable them to be agile and ethical in their practice, and ready to meet the challenges posed by contemporary global problems such as climate emergency, work force automation, data security and the ageing population.
The aim with the postgraduate Architecture program is to produce research specialist architecture graduates who are highly valued in their place of work and indispensable within design, fabrication and construction teams through their forward-thinking technological knowledge, and their skills in application and innovation.
