The MSc Marketing programme will equip students with the knowledge and analytical skills required for a range of exciting marketing roles in today’s fast-paced and ever-evolving world.
Marketing is the hub of all modern business. In a world of constantly changing consumer habits and technological advances, marketing offers a wealth of exciting and creative career opportunities in digital, retail, advertising, manufacturing and finance. No business today can survive long without marketing.
The Marketing Master's will enable students to discover the secrets behind effective strategic marketing management in a global marketplace, learn the techniques used in conducting and analysing market research, and explore the marketing mix in an international context. Students will benefit directly from expert teaching by leading researchers, academics and practitioners, many of whom are world-renowned in their fields.
In semester two, students will work on a project with a leading brand. Most recently this was Britvic, suppliers of Pepsi Max, Robinsons, Rockstar and others to the UK market. Each group were allocated a brand and liaised with the Britvic marketing team to produce a report to increase sales after Covid-19.
In addition, students will also have the opportunity to study towards The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s (CIM) level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing. This optional qualification is separate to the Marketing Master’s programme and therefore involves an additional fee. It is taught by Loughborough University's training partner, TMLA (an accredited study centre for the CIM), and as Loughborough University is part of the CIM Accredited Degree, students will be exempt from taking the exam and will only need to produce two assignments to achieve the Diploma. This professional diploma is sought after by employers when it comes to hiring new staff.
