Quantity surveyors manage the commercial aspects of building and civil engineering projects, including finances, procurement and contracts. In this course, Nottingham Trent University will equip students to specialise in this field – preparing them for roles that sit at the heart of the construction process.
Students will learn about the various procurement options available in the UK and internationally, and develop approaches that seek to maximise client value, minimise costs and deliver construction projects to the required standards. Through module and project work, students will explore construction law, technology and management and have the opportunity to source and gain real work experience on Nottingham Trent University's Industrial or Professional Experience optional module.
This course is aimed at professionals and graduates wishing to pursue a career in the construction industry with a focus on quantity surveying. It is suitable for prospective students who don't necessarily have a background in construction. This course can act as a route into the construction industry for non-cognate professionals and graduates wishing to make a career change or with a non-construction related qualification.
This course is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE), recognising the quality and relevance of the course content and representing students' first step towards becoming Chartered.
