The Advertising and Marketing Communications – Management program prepares students to hit the ground running in this fast-paced industry. Students in this program will learn the fundamentals of campaign planning and the creative process. They will use industry software to interpret market research, develop strategies and learn basic design and copywriting. Students engage in the planning, buying and selling of media for digital and traditional platforms.
In third year, students take advanced advertising and marketing courses such as Creative Branding, Media Management, Advertising Campaign Management and Global Communications. They will also put everything they have learned into practice with a specialty Capstone project. In this portfolio-building project, students develop a campaign proposal for a real business client from the community.
Sheridan's mandatory 10-week marketing or advertising internship gives students valuable real-world work experience before they graduate. This field placement will also give them the chance to network, build contacts and connections in the communications field.
