The PhD in Healthcare Management will give students the opportunity to pursue their particular personal or professional interest in the leadership and improvement of health services, how they provide treatment for people with physical and mental illnesses, and how they can contribute to health improvement through targeted interventions.
Over the course of their studies, students will develop and enhance transferable skills such as problem-solving, project management, and critical thinking that are valued in any professional setting.
Recent student research projects in Healthcare Management include research into patient and public involvement, data security in information systems, and improved methods for evaluating large capital expenditures in health care.
As part of the College of Human and Health Sciences, students will benefit from a dynamic and supportive research environment with many opportunities to make connections across disciplines and develop links with organizations and policymakers both in the UK and abroad. As such, students can be confident that their research will inform and be informed by the wider health and social care environment.
