Sports Biomechanics looks to optimize human performance, reduce injury risk, and contribute to the rehabilitation and clinical management of athletes and clients.
Students will gain comprehensive, critical knowledge and understanding of both classical theory and models as well as selected specialized and current issues relevant to biomechanics and rehabilitation within human movement analysis, sport, exercise, health, and the clinical environment.
All students will have the opportunity to develop expertise in the practical use of state-of-the-art biomechanics equipment related to human movement and performance, as well as associated software platforms for measurement, analysis, and modelling of data.
Students will benefit from a wide range of teaching, learning, and assessment modes with an emphasis on practical skills and the use of technology.
As this is an MRes, students will have meaningful ownership over their own studies though University of Dundee's staff will supervise and mentor work packages and research projects covering a wide range of relevant topics. Students will also have the flexibility to specialize in the area they are most passionate about.
