Developed by industry veterans this Master’s in Game Development provides students with the skills they need to gain an edge in the competitive world of video game development. University of Gloucestershire's mentors have a combined experience of more than 30 years in the games industry, having worked on AAA franchises including Crysis, Star Wars: Battlefront, Prey, Sniper Elite, Aliens vs. Predator and Bioshock.
Building on student's existing skills in art, programming or games design this course offers them the flexibility to choose from a variety of topics that interest them and will help them specialise within a particular field. Topics include: Technical Art, Procedural Generation Algorithms, Photogrammetry and Environment Design, Machine Learning and Data Analytics, and Game Theory and Design. In addition to these topics students will also be given the opportunity to work with other programmers, designers and artists to create an industry-standard combined portfolio piece to help propel them into the industry.
Finally, in the third semester, students have the option of embarking on a summer industry placement, to put the skills they have learned over the previous two semesters into action inside a professional game development company.
