The Executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an internationally recognized master's degree in business administration and management. This course aims to develop the business leaders of the future. It approaches responsible leadership from the starting points of creativity, practicality and social resourcefulness. This course focuses on students' personal development, including their career management. Learners will look at the integrative disciplines of business strategy and the management of change, leading to a real-world consultancy project and an individual business project.
This course receives insight from leading employers and professional bodies to ensure it remains current. Moreover, it is accredited with the CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice. The teaching team includes accomplished lecturers and practitioners with vast experience in the fields of business management, strategy and entrepreneurship; and is informed by research and consultancy work.
Learning is through a combination of lectures and seminars. Students will discuss and develop their understanding of lecture topics in smaller group sessions. Outside of timetabled sessions, learners will need to dedicate time to self-study to prepare for coursework, presentations and exams. In particular, anyone studying via supported open learning will need to be disciplined and dedicate time to self-study. Greenwich's Stockwell Street library and online resources will support further reading and research. Students can also join a range of student societies, including the Greenwich Entrepreneurs.
Graduates can apply for advanced access to the Master's Gateway of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), which provides an accelerated route to the institute.
Many graduates are working in sectors such as accountancy, banking, consulting, energy and utilities, engineering and manufacturing, environment and agriculture, healthcare, information technology, property and construction, public services, HR, retail, training and education, transport and logistics. While others have started their own business. Many of them have also reached senior or higher level positions, such as managing director.
