In the Bachelor of Kinesiology in Health Promotion program, students will gain a foundation in movement science and a background in the determinants of health, equity, diversity and inclusion, wellness, evaluation, and program delivery. They learn how programs and policies, like housing, access to healthy food, and mental health supports, can affect health. In addition, students will learn how to assess, develop and implement programs that are designed to achieve specific health results.
Health promotion can be applied in all areas of society, including workplaces, schools, health care facilities, your personal life, and the community. This field is growing as workplaces and organizations recognize the importance of promoting health and wellbeing among their employees and members.
The health promotion bachelor’s degree program at the University of Regina will prepare students for a health career that has a positive impact on the world. Students get career-ready with a 15-week, full-time fieldwork experience, applying what the learned from studying their major. This level of experience prior to degree completion is not common in other undergraduate kinesiology programs.
