On this course, students will explore the issues and problems that corporate and commercial law has to deal with. Then discuss and evaluate the law as it exists. Finally, students will critique the law and suggest ways in which it might be improved.
Alongside courses in specific areas of corporate and commercial law, the University of Sheffield runs a series of workshops on legal skills. Those workshops also introduce students to different methodologies. Students will develop and hone their critical skills and research expertise. Students will use these skills to write a dissertation during the second half of their LLM, with expert supervision from staff.
Teaching is informed by the research of renowned academics from the Sheffield Institute of Corporate and Commercial Law.
This course is just one of the pathways offered on the Sheffield LLM. Students can also choose to study the LLM International Law and Global Justice option.
If students are not sure which specialist pathway they want to follow, they can take the Sheffield LLM without specialising, or opt to follow one of the pathways on arrival. The choice is theirs.
