Technology has created new challenges and opportunities for businesses, from their products and services to the way that distribution functions. The Digital Marketing MSc will provide students with the theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills employers are looking for in this challenging but exciting environment.
This 24-month MSc course with professional placement year enables student to spend time working in industry. After a year of full-time study at Surrey, learners will be able to spend up to an additional 12 months gaining paid, professional work experience with an organization. They'll be responsible for securing their own job offer(s), however, they'll be supported in their search with a series of employability workshops and benefit from some individual coaching.
By the end of this course, students will be able to use their digital marketing knowledge to create marketing communication campaigns for both social media and more traditional channels. They'll also have a practical understanding of marketing analytics and channel management, so they can make well-informed decisions in practice. Surrey graduates have gone on to secure roles such as Digital Marketing Manager, Social Media Marketing Manager, E-commerce Channel Manager, Digital Marketing Strategist and Content Marketing Manager.
Students will explore both fields in detail, studying topics, including social media, entrepreneurship and marketing analytics. They'll also choose two optional modules based on their own interests and career aspirations. This course is taught through interactive lectures, seminars and small-group laboratory sessions. Students will also attend talks by industry guest speakers, who’ll share practical examples and help them reflect on what they learn, giving them the opportunity to develop their professional network.
The Digital Marketing MSc is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Graduates who enroll with CIM as an affiliate can study CIM qualifications without having to complete all the modules. It is also accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
