Want to develop the skillset to support children and young people who are experiencing mental health related issues? The MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health develops a critical and in-depth understanding of mental health and its relationship to children, young people and families within a changing and fluid society.
Learners will explore medical and psychological models of practice and look at mental health from the position of social intervention including social pedagogy, relationship-based practice, playwork and community work as methodologies.
Teaching includes lectures, seminars and workshops that will develop peer-learning networks. Students will be taught by dedicated practitioners from Leeds’ Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services who will share their professional experience to enhance learning. Learners will gain a range of in-demand transferable skills that are prime to enter contemporary health and social care practice.
The MSc Child and Adolescent Mental Health course will enable students to develop an in-depth understanding of this emerging field. They'll have the expertise and knowledge to work in roles across a range of sectors including health and social care, children’s services, youth work services, education, and young people’s counselling and mental health services.
