The Direct Master’s Accelerator Program is a one-semester program designed specifically for international students with an advanced level of English language proficiency, but who also want the academic, cultural, and professional support to thrive in their graduate program at Auburn. Students will earn a semester’s worth of credits toward their graduate degree, as well as benefit from additional professional and research courses tailored to their needs as international students.
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics (DMS) has over 50 professors representing diverse areas of pure mathematics, applied mathematics, and statistics. The Master of Science in Statistics degree is designed to provide a suitable mix of theoretical and applied background for students interested in a career in statistics. The curriculum provides students with the necessary technical, analytical and interpretive skills required of professional statisticians while concentrating on education in the fundamentals of statistics and its interdisciplinary nature. Course offerings are structured to give students a variety of choices of specialization in order to pursue a career in academia, government or industry and/or further their pursuit of a Ph.D. degree in statistics.
