The world can be changed by applying a design mindset. This course offers a pathway for individuals who wish to lead in innovation through creativity and applied design thinking, in a variety of related industries.
There are several definitions of the word 'innovation' and whether students choose to define it as a step or a leap, innovation is a new way to realize value. This could be through a new product or service, organizational change, new processes, facilitating creative practice or setting and leading a strategic direction. The world needs people who can engage with the ever-changing landscape of social, business and sustainability needs, armed with design thinking and collaborative approaches, to create real value.
Design thinking skills are highly transferable and can be used to understand and address a variety of people-related challenges, and have the potential to bring about significant change. This course will introduce them to the skills and knowledge needed to steer, row and rock the boat in the context of applied innovation activities.
