The Art History graduate program at CSULB prepares students with the necessary research skills and experiences to enter the professional fields of teaching, museum work, art gallery management, art consultancy, arts management, and art writing, or to continue their studies at the doctoral level at another university. A student may also pursue the Certificate Program in Museum Studies as a program in study itself, or in combination with a program of study directed toward the achievement of a MA or MFA (with 9 units counted for both the certificate and degree).
Please note that the School of Art is not accepting applications for the Museum Studies track or Certificate for fall 2021 admissions, but Museum Studies courses continue to be available through the MA in Art History. It is likely that these programs will accept applicants in the near future.
