Conestoga’s one-year graduate certificate in Motion Graphics provides students with a modern learning environment for creating seamless animated artwork and sequences, allowing them to pursue a career as a motion graphic designer, interactive media editor, post-production editor, or to integrate these elements into their current profession. Throughout the program, students will draw upon theory and techniques of the design, digital media, and animation worlds to conceptualize and create captivating 2D and 3D digital media for a variety of online and mobile applications. Courses are taught by faculty with direct industry experience and cover a broad range of applications such as advanced image capturing and editing techniques, typography, colour theory, green screen techniques, rendering, digital compositing, and post production.
Courses also feature a mix of teaching and hands-on lab time, giving students the space to develop and perfect their skills using leading-edge content editing software. Designed to reflect the requirements and workflows found in industry, the program includes both individual and collaborative team-based projects, design iteration, the use of professional design briefs, and budget considerations. Throughout the program, students will develop a portfolio of original work that speaks to their unique strengths. To further support their transition to the workforce, the program facilitates a field placement where students will be given the opportunity to apply their skills on real projects.
