In the Financial Services Diploma Program, students take financial management courses developed in consultation with the Canadian Securities Institute and major Canadian investment firms. The program also covers the skills needed to start a career, such as personal selling, business law and management essentials.
The Financial Services industry is one of the largest employers in Canada. Banks and investment companies offer increasing options to consumers, and this explosion of financial products requires trained specialists to sell and manage them. Further increasing the demand for wealth managers is the advent of the "baby boomer" generation seeking retirement planning and investment management to secure a sound financial position in retirement.
All courses taken as part of the Financial Services Management Diploma may be applied for credit towards the BBA – Financial Services and Administration. As well, many courses can be transferred towards credits in university degree programs and other business credentials.
Students enrolled in this program may be eligible for a Co-operative Education designation. Co-operative Education involves alternating full-time academic and work terms. For information contact the Co-operative Education Office.
