Dynamic and specialized technicians are always in-demand and Fanshawe College’s Motive Power Technician (diesel) program will give students the necessary knowledge and the opportunity to apply their new skills through co-op work experiences.
Through the diesel mechanic courses, students will learn about internal combustion compression ignition engines, power trains, and modern heavy-duty systems. They will also be able to communicate effectively, diagnose and solve problems logically and undertake responsible work tasks with minimum supervision.
Graduates of this program will have the skills to find work within multiple industries. With their diesel mechanic training, they will also have the option to work for motive power equipment dealerships. This program will prepare them to enter the workplace in the Truck and Coach apprenticeship.
