The MSc in Network Security teaches the theory, methods and tools of computer network security. It imparts the knowledge and skills needed to keep computer networks safe from attacks and threats by teaching how to formulate security policies, deploy network security solutions and validate their effectiveness. The programme offers as well a detailed understanding of contemporary issues in network security research areas.
In the third semester (May-August) students undertake a specialist MSc project which is written up as a 15000 word dissertation. This project enables further development and consolidation of skills introduced in the taught courses, applying them to a challenging practical problem in this subject area.
