The Faculty of Engineering at Lakehead University - Thunder Bay offers a uniquely designed four-year Bachelor of Engineering Degree program in Software Engineering, with a Co-op/Internship option available. The BEng (Software) degree at Lakehead University is accredited through the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB).
Lakehead University - Thunder Bay has the only Faculty of Engineering in Canada where, after completing high school, students can earn a Bachelor of Engineering Degree and an Engineering Technology Diploma in four years.
The Faculty of Engineering- Thunder Bay campus also offers a post-diploma engineering degree program in Software Engineering designed specifically for graduate engineering technologists.
The unique structure of Lakehead’s programs at the Thunder Bay campus enables students to earn a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Software Engineering in four years while also completing the requirements of a Software Engineering Technology Diploma by the end of the second year of their BEng degree program.

The special design of the 4-year Bachelor of Engineering degree in Software Engineering at the Lakehead University Thunder Bay campus enables qualified engineering technology graduates from accredited Canadian technology programs to enter the BEng program after completing post-diploma transition courses offered in the summer session prior to third year. The Summer Transition program, offered in July and August, is designed to assist qualified engineering technologists make the transition to university studies.
