Human Services - Educational Assistant/Community Support at North Island College at Comox Valley

Prepare to provide support and assist individuals with a broad range of differing abilities. Make employer connections and gain first-hand experience through workplace practicums. Become qualified for a career as an educational assistant or community support in school districts, group homes, employment agencies and community organizations, or transfer to NIC’s Human Services diploma.
The program exposes students to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework with which to examine and understand social issues and ethics pertaining to disabilities. Communication skills and critical thinking are highlighted.
