Environmental Biology encompasses the diversity and function of life on the planet within the context of human impacts on the environment. This specialization exposes students to a variety of science disciplines, providing them with the scientific basis necessary for understanding the physical, chemical and biological nature of the environment. In the first two years of study, students will cover a disciplinary study in the natural sciences, followed by two years of focused study on the diversity of life from genomes to ecosystems in natural and human impacted environments.
In addition to their specialization, five-year Bachelor of Science and Management (Honours) program graduates also gain a solid foundation in the key functional areas of business and management, including finance, accounting, operations, project management and marketing. There is a wealth of opportunities for science graduates in industry, government, and in areas of applied science. The combination of a science degree and business and management education will give an added advantage to graduates in establishing careers within these practical fields.
