The Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBScN) is accredited by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN). The SCBScN program is offered jointly by the Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the University of Regina. Students will begin their nursing education in Year 1 with opportunities to work directly with patients and clients. When students graduate, they will receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Students will be ready to make a real difference in the lives of their clients and communities and work as a valuable member of a health care team.
State-of-the-art teaching facilities help students to “learn by doing” using the latest in educational innovations. Facilities foster confidence regarding practice situations, enabling students to provide better care for clients when they enter the field. The Simulation Learning Centre (SLC) at Saskatchewan Polytechnic and U of R feature computerized mannequins that mimic a real patient’s response to treatment. More than 120 different scenarios, from heart attacks to allergic reactions, can be replicated by these mannequins. SLCs allow students to safely practice what they have learned.
Students will also utilize their knowledge and skills during practical experiences, which are supervised by either faculty or by preceptors.
