The Environmental Technician diploma program stands out for its emphasis on chemistry and practical lab work. Students will learn the most sophisticated, up-to-date methods – the same procedures used in environmental science research and required by environmental laboratories, consulting firms and regulatory agencies. Some graduates choose to further their studies in Sheridan's Chemical Engineering Technology – Environmental or Chemical Engineering Technology programs. Some graduates go on to obtain university degrees, most commonly in chemistry, chemical engineering and environmental science. Depending on the university, and the choice of program, they may receive transfer credits for their study at Sheridan.
