The master’s in professional accountancy at Albany is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in accounting who want to get licensed as a certified public accountant in New York State.
When students enroll in this full-time program, students will be eligible to take the Uniform CPA Exam in just one year. If students majored in accounting, they also have the option to earn this graduate accounting degree part-time.
The curriculum builds on existing knowledge of accounting practice. Course topics include generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), investment valuation methods, data mining and analysis, accounting software and technologies, commercial fraud, auditing, internal controls, budgeting, and cost-profit analysis.
