The Construction industry is currently facing a shortage of professionally trained Construction Management talent in both residential and non-residential sectors. In addition, Canada’s commitment to making homes and buildings more energy efficient to meet national net-zero energy and emissions goals is increasing opportunities for the residential sector to meet current and emerging energy performance standards and building code requirements.
This program will help students develop required skills and competencies to oversee all logistics of a construction project. They will gain leading industry knowledge of building science principles, metrics for verifying performance, and prevailing rating and verification systems. Students will also learn about residential design and construction principles, methods and technologies for building high-performance homes. They will learn to analyze costs and prepare precise estimates for various construction projects and gain the knowledge, communication and technical skills to interpret and quantify information in construction contract documents to deliver accurate construction project estimates.
