The University of Brighton's researchers are experts in their field, with strengths in medicinal, environmental, materials and analytical chemistry research. Students will be attached to one or more of the available research groups, working alongside postdoctoral and other postgraduate researchers with shared interests.
Working with your supervisor, students design and undertake a substantial research project which provides a real intellectual challenge and shows the relevance of scientific research to industry. They will demonstrate creativity and initiative, and gain advanced knowledge of techniques such as chromatography spectroscopy and electroanalysis, as you build confidence and independence as a researcher. Our journal club provides opportunities to explore and evaluate current scientific journal articles through presentations from guest speakers and student-led discussion.
