The University of Chester offers an excellent opportunity to study Programme and Project Management – including PRINCE2®. Project management is a key skill, which is in growing demand due to the increasing scale and complexity of projects being undertaken across all industries.
The course is designed to equip students with a set of skills for planning, monitoring and controlling, and delivering projects in a traditional and in an Agile approach. The course provides students with the knowledge and tools to help implement strategies for change, in a sustainable way. This MSc in Programme and Project Management does not focus on one specific sector, and successful completion of the course will give students the flexibility to work across all industries.
The MSc Programme and Project Management is designed to give students the core skills they need as a Project Manager, together with the flexibility to select optional modules to support their career development.
The University of Chester has designed this course to produce ‘hands on’ professionals who have access to a broad range of career possibilities in project management, either as project managers in their own right or as members of a Programme, Portfolio or Project Office. As a graduate, students will be able to recognise the project management maturity of organisations and thus place themselves accordingly.
For students new to project management, this course will give them a thorough grounding in the discipline, enabling them to start in this field with confidence.
For existing Project Managers, the University of Chester can develop and enhance their core skills, as well as provide them with the opportunity to learn new, related techniques via the range of optional modules.
If students wish to pursue further research into programme and project management issues, students will be encouraged to do so, and will be able to take advantage of the mix of practical skills and research tasks the course offers, while being supported by the expert tutor team.
