The Construction Management and Economics, MSc degree was developed in response to a growing demand for capable and creative professionals from the construction and property industries. It therefore prioritized strategic thinking and the skills needed to respond to volatile economic conditions.
On this course, students will learn the theory and application of economics, finance and management in the context of large-scale construction projects. Various modules include construction economics, construction project management, development economics and planning, and real estate development and investment. It also addresses and defines new trends and knowledge in the field of built environment and prepares learners to become a registered Chartered Surveyor.
Students will be taught by renowned professional and academic experts with specialisms in the field of construction, property and surveying practices. Classes are held in the world-class facilities of Stockwell Street, and are taught in small numbers in order to maximize contact time with tutors. Visiting lecturers will also be available in each term for specialist lectures, workshops and tutorials.
The Construction Management and Economics, MSc graduates will be able to pursue roles in project and construction management consultancy, quantity surveying, or careers within construction companies, environmental agencies, local authorities and regeneration agencies.
