This master's course will allow students to explore supply chain networks in global and domestic contexts and prepare them to address issues such as cost reduction and service enhancement. Areas of study will include the functions of procurement, production, distribution and customer service, alongside a diverse range of designs and structures. Other than this, they'll also have the opportunity to visit industrial locations, attend seminars from industry guest speakers, and collaborate with business partners for a dissertation. In the final stage of this course, learners will undertake a two-week consultancy project with selected companies.
In a typical week, learning takes place through a combination of lectures and seminars. Students will be able to discuss and develop their understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller group sessions. Outside of timetabled sessions, they'll need to dedicate time to self-study to prepare for coursework, presentations and exams. Greenwich's Stockwell Street library and online resources will support further reading and research. Learners can also join a range of student societies, including the SMS Student Community.
Graduates can pursue careers in service and manufacturing sectors, purchasing, logistics and supply chain management for services and manufacturing in the private, public and voluntary sectors, and consultancy.
