As a landscape architect, students will create and improve natural and built environments using art, technology, natural systems and an understanding of human behavior. Students will graduate prepared to design communities, neighborhoods, urban centers, play spaces and outdoor recreational areas anywhere in the world.
Students learn from talented professionals and have freedom to explore ideas. Similar in format to a studio art program, their projects are self-directed and require verbal and design skills. Studio projects and design workshops help students to understand the professional methods that ensure design success. Students find work placements through large (and global) alumni network, and enjoy the opportunity to study for a semester abroad. This is the only accredited program of its kind in Canada.
The landscape architecture program is fully accredited by the Landscape Architecture Accreditation Council (LAAC) of the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects, meeting the educational requirements for entry into the professional associations of landscape architects across Canada, North America, and abroad.
