Understanding the resilience of the built environment against climate change and other external hazards – and how long-term sustainability-driven decision making can assist towards the transition to a net-zero carbon economy – is fundamental towards the safe and efficient functioning of society.
This unique and accredited MSc in Infrastructure Engineering and Management provides students with specialist knowledge that can allow them to target niche positions in industry in the areas of infrastructure planning, delivery, operation and asset management. They'll be taught by academics with a track record in infrastructure issues, together with professionals from industry.
Learners will acquire a sound understanding of the entire life cycle of infrastructure assets, the environmental impact of infrastructure projects, infrastructure finance models, Building Information Modelling (BIM), sustainable decision-making and formal asset-management techniques. The University of Surrey also gives them the opportunity to attend keynote talks from distinguished speakers and participate in an organization visit related to the topics they're studying.
