Economics helps everyone understand the world: wages and employment, economic growth, productivity, wealth and poverty, government budgets and taxation, resource exploitation, business practices, inflation, recession and regional economic differences.
Students in the economics program will explore the history and current reality of these issues and develop sound reasoning and problem-solving skills.
The department has a strong record of teaching excellence and a commitment to an environment that facilitates student learning. Students develop core skills that give economics majors a competitive edge in careers where an understanding and analysis of the economy is desirable.
